Romy Maimon - Jul 16, 2006 - 0:29:36 Colorado [USA] I am a proud parent of a 9 month old 86lb Pyrenees and I think he is happy to be with us as well - not that you can always tell:) We are learning about this great breed as we have always had Huskies and he is so much different and very special! It is hard to walk the streets in our town without everyone coming up to say hello and I am hoping that together we will be able to do pet therapy when he is older. In the meantime he just wantst to eat, play in the water and sleep. Take care
Rod and Brenda Scotvold - Jul 16, 2006 - 09:49:42 Salt Spring Island [British Columbia Canada] We have had two Great Pyrenees, both alpha females--first Lady Bear and now Lady Breeze. Their intellect and fun loving nature make them truly unique. Breezie's best friend on the farm is Bernard, our Jack Russell Terrior--the only one she will take nonsense from!
Jana - Jul 15, 2006 - 10:02:39 Toronto [Canada] NIce to see history of your experience with the breed. We got our first Pyr last year, he is a wonderful dog, all the traits you want, plus size and physical beauty. He has a large heart and greets people at the door when say "look who's here!". He adores children and responds well to commands, however he is independant and a wonderful guard dog. Stubborn, loving and always thinking. He makes us laugh all day long!!! People who get a pyr NEED to research the breed thoroughly. They are VERY different from the traditional breeds and cannot be trained to the same extent.
Gloria - Jul 10, 2006 - 3:24:49 Waco [USA] Just got two females at the age of 8 weeks. Love them. Have had them groomed and shaved down to about 1/2 inch. They are laid back and gentle and always hungry.
